LaukiPrivacy policy
This page describes what data the game Lauki keeps about you, why we keep it, where it is, and how you can have it deleted. We'll extend this policy before the game opens to everyone.
Who we are
Lauki is made by a small team in Latvia. We are responsible for your data, and you can reach us by email at atbalsts@laukispele.lv.
What data we keep
- Your name, your email address, the game's language and a hash of your password. We never see or keep the password itself. If you sign in with Google, we also keep your Google account's ID.
- Everything that happens on your farm, such as your plots, harvests, tasks, coins and their history, and when you last played.
- If you turn notifications on, your device's notification address, your time zone and your quiet hours.
- In the server's logs, IP addresses and requests. We use them to find bugs and to protect the game, for example against password guessing.
Why
Without this data the game wouldn't work, because you couldn't log in, play, or get mail about your account. We keep the server's logs in our legitimate interest, because they help keep the game secure.
We send only the mail your account needs, that is, a link to confirm your email and a link to choose a new password when you ask for one. We don't send marketing mail.
Who helps us
These service providers store and process the data.
- Hetzner, whose servers in Helsinki, Finland, run the game and its database.
- Cloudflare, which every request to the game passes through and which protects it against attacks. Cloudflare also processes data outside the EU, under the EU's standard contractual clauses.
- Lettermint in the Netherlands, which sends our mail.
- Google, but only if you choose to sign in with your Google account.
- Browsers' push services, such as Google's, Apple's or Mozilla's, which deliver notifications to your device if you've turned them on.
What we don't do
The game has no ads, no tracking and no analytics. We don't sell your data, or give it to anyone for advertising.
Cookies
The game uses only the cookies it needs, a session cookie so you stay logged in and a cookie that protects against forged requests. Your browser keeps your language and similar settings. Cloudflare may set its own security cookies.
How long
We keep your account and farm for as long as the account exists. During testing, farms may be reset. We keep the server's logs for no longer than two weeks. If you ask us to delete your account, we'll delete it within 30 days, though it may stay in backups for up to 14 more days.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we handle it. Write to atbalsts@laukispele.lv from the email address you play with. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to Latvia's Data State Inspectorate (dvi.gov.lv).
